Skin Tightening by Cynosure® Laser is a non-invasive treatment that works by shrinking tissues and stimulating collagen production. It can greatly reduce age-related skin concerns such as wrinkles, fine lines and skin laxity. As we age we begin to lose two key components collagen and elastin and our skin begins to lose elasticity, resulting in loose or sagging skin. How Does Skin Tightening by Cynosure® Laser Work?
The goal of these laser treatments is to stimulate collagen production in the skin. When using the infrared laser, it causes damage to the skin, which promotes the creation of new cells in that area that tighten the skin and reveal a smoother and more youthful appearance. Skin Tightening by Cynosure® Laser can be done with one of two lasers:
Ablative laser- This laser removes the epidermis, or first layer of skin, and heats up the dermis underneath, which promotes collagen production in that area.
Nonablative laser- This laser does not involve damage to the skin but instead promotes natural collagen production over a few sessions.
